Samantha No Snob Somm
Like most people who start a bourbon channel, I’ve really been getting into wine recently. I blame the movies Somm, Somm 2 and Somm 3 for kindling a desire to drink more wine in me. And they make me want to do that whole blind tasting thing which just seems cool.
Anyway, just as Hillary had his Norgay, I find often find myself in need of an alcohol-laden Sherpa to lead me safely down the mountain and into bottle(s) of wine I can enjoy. And just as I suspect Edmund Hillary would have wanted to, I found my guide on Instagram in the person of Sam Capaldi, My Go-To No Snob Somm.
As is often the case, I was drawn to her not for her wine choices, but for a common love of Trader Joe’s. Since then, I have come to enjoy her TJ food/wine pairings and the fact I can drink good without paying an arm, a leg or really more than about $10, if that.
Anyway, I’ve been trying to share the love a little bit more, so check her out. Even if you don’t drink wine, she has impeccable snack ideas. Totally worth your time!
