Like Loaded Fries, how about
Steak and Eggs Loaded Fries
So a couple of us from Twitter (myself, @elleskitchen, @RJFlamingo among others) decided to pool our collective talents and write about a topic near and dear (and sometimes in) our heart: loaded French fries. Check out everyone’s posts and let us know which one you think is best.
For my part, I went with something a little out of the ordinary, not only because it was what I had in my refrigerator, but because I thought it would taste good. In fact, this could have been my #FridgeFriday post, but that just seemed like cheating. Anyway, here’s a very Kansas City style version of steak and eggs, using smoked brisket and BBQ sauce.
Steak and Eggs Loaded Fries Recipe
This recipe is perfect if you are already smoking a brisket or have some left over (hey, it can happen.) Just fry up some fries, scramble the eggs, and add the brisket. You don’t need even need any cheese sauce or anything. Just a little BBQ sauce and go!
You will need:
- 1 pound of fries
- Oil for frying
- Salt and pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter, sliced
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 pound brisket, chopped
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
Fry the oil according to package directions. After the fries are done, sprinkle with salt and pepper.
While the fries are frying, melt the butter in a skillet. Beat the eggs and add another sprinkle of salt and pepper. Scramble the eggs in a skillet.
If the brisket is cold, heat it in the mircowave.
Assemble the loaded fries by covering with eggs and the brisket and the pouring on the BBQ sauce. Serve and enjoy.
Damn, these sound amazing! I can’t wait to see a photo–let me know when you post one, ok? 🙂
