So, for the past few days, we’ve considered whether the Porterhouse or avocados are the perfect Valentine’s Day food. At the end of the day, I have come to my senses and I have realized that there is only one perfect food for Valentine’s Day: chocolate.
According to Delish, we’re going to eat 58 million pounds of chocolate on Valentine’s Day (which is still somehow third behind Halloween and Easter, but still pretty impressive…) I think we need to find a way to eat more chocolate, don’t you? There are so many different ways to eat chocolate: fondue, bars, hot, in coffee, in cakes, in cookies, drizzled straight into one’s mouth. Take your pick and let’s see if we can beat Easter’s 71 million pounds.
The thing with chocolate, though, is that the chocolate experience is more than the taste. Chocolate causes the body to release endorphins (those feel good chemicals that get released when you do other Valentine’s Day-like activities) which means that a few bites is kind of like the best parts of being in a relationship without all the weird texting at 3am.
Eh, what do I know? Anyway, have a happy Valentine’s Day. Each some chocolate if you want and enjoy!
